Imagine walking through a human heart, floating through a complex molecule or visiting an ancient Roman spa. AZ-LIVE (Arizona Lab for Immersive Visualization Environments) is a physical space where users are immersed in 3Dimensional, computer generated worlds. The system combines 3D computer graphics, stereoscopic projection technology, acoustical tracking devices, and four-channel audio to allow the users to walk around in a wide variety of virtual worlds.

How is it done?
The visualization team helps transform pen and paper sketches into immersive 3D visualizations or pictures, depending on what is needed most. AZ-LIVE’s Sketch to 3D Immersion Completed in a Day is an article detailing how this process works to help provide a better understanding about what goes into the process and how the data is manipulated to produce a visual.
