Unity 3D is a cross platform game engine which is used almost exclusively by AZ-LIVE for client visualizations. This is due to a Mechdyne vendor program called GetReal3D which provides a simple scripting and preparation workflow for processing Unity projects to work in the CAVE. AZ-LIVE's greater workflow further utilizes Unity by utilizing its cross platform features, allowing the lab to set up and preview visualizations as well as collaborate with clients on last minute adjustments to a scene before final post production in the CAVE.
Conduit is a program which allows for the AZ-LIVE to use some desktop programs in the VR CAVE through utilizing the capture of graphics commands to the GPU for integration and viewing in Virtual Reality. Example programs that can be run include Google Earth, Sketchup 3D, Navisworks, ArcGIS and VisIt.
